Job Summary:
The Cancer Screening Pathway Coordinator Nurse II position is located within the Provincial Cancer Care Program to provide advanced professional nursing leadership to achieve the goals and objectives of population-based cancer screening programs in the province. The Cancer Screening Pathway Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating cancer screening standards and processes along the cancer screening pathway for the Labrador Grenfell Zone. For administrative direction the position reports to the Manager of Chronic Disease within the Labrador Grenfell zone or their designate.
The Coordinator works to establish and maintain links between the program, clients, healthcare professionals and community agencies. The Coordinator develops policies and standards, monitors and evaluates services, collaborates in the coordination of education and cancer screening awareness activities with a provincial focus, and acts as a resource for physicians and other health care professionals, as well as the community, in matters related to cancer screening.
In collaboration with other health care providers, including program staff, family physicians, and community partners, the Coordinator acts as a clinical resource, providing support, information and education to promote coordination and continuity of care in matters related to the provincial population cancer screening programs.
This position conducts community-based outreach and public/professional education to inform, recruit and promote cancer screening for the cervical, breast and colon cancer screening programs.

Qualifications:
" Graduation from an approved/recognized school of nursing program is required;
" Current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) is required;
" Active certification in BLS.
" Minimum of five (5) years' experience within the last seven (7) years in a community health or cancer program setting. Previous experience in population-based cancer screening would be considered an asset.
" Knowledge of hospital and community resources is required to ensure appropriate follow-up.
" Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with health care professionals and the general public
" Demonstrated strong written communication skills, time management skills, interpersonal and leadership skills.
" Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently.
" Demonstrated computer skills in MS office (Word, Excel and Power Point) and various Health care applications.
" A valid Newfoundland and Labrador Class 5 Driver's License and the use of a private vehicle are conditions of employment.
" Willingness to travel to all communities in Labrador Grenfell zone
" A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.

Salary:
" NS-31 of the RNUNL Salary Scales, $41.79 to $51.66 per hour, plus the applicable Labrador Allowance.

Hours of Work:
" 75 hours Bi-weekly; Willingness to work a flexible schedule (8 hours shifts; days).
