Security Engineering Manager

We are seeking an exceptional Security Engineering Manager to join our team at Canonical. As a key member of our security leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of engineers, ranging from graduate to senior, and driving the development of security features and capabilities for AppArmor, the security module protecting all Ubuntu users.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop a team of engineers, focusing on their growth and career development
- Coach, mentor, and provide career guidance to team members
- Identify and measure team health indicators, ensuring a high-performing team
- Implement disciplined engineering processes, driving quality and efficiency
- Represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers, showcasing technical expertise
- Develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices, promoting a culture of excellence
- Plan and manage progress on agreed goals and projects, ensuring timely delivery
- Exceptional academic track record, with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Drive and a track record of exceeding expectations, with a passion for developing and growing people
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with a professional manner when interacting with colleagues, partners, and community
- Proficient in C and knowledgeable about Linux kernel development, with experience working with Linux Security Modules
- Knowledgeable and passionate about software and application security, with a solid understanding of containers and packaging formats
- Result-oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments, and able to travel twice a year for company events
