Job Description

Responsible for developing, implementing, sustaining and improving the maintenance program of the plant, to ensure compliance with the contract requirements and continuous improvement on assets performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Contract management

Collaborate with Plant Manager and support him in achieving excellent contract compliance and financial results in the areas relating to assets maintenance and improvements, This includes (but is not limited to):

  1. Ensure the maintenance activities fully meet the requirement of the contracts
  2. Develop and monitor key performance indicators agreed-upon with the asset stakeholder objectives. Based on results obtained, identify and implement changes to policy and practices;
  3. Prepare annual expense operating plan. Review & manage maintenance budget;
  4. Review weekly/monthly budget reports. Coordinate department to assure budgetary compliance for the 3 budgets: site maintenance, Client maintenance costs and capital;
  5. Define scope of works, plan and manage maintenance projects on plant coordinating both internal and external resources.
  6. Submit requests for Capital expenditure authorizations and ensure project execution meets planned capital expenses and performance targets, maintains KPI's;

Assets maintenance and management

Establish and sustain asset management best practices as a support to the contract management for the medium and long term. In particular

  1. Lead the development of an effective risk mitigation program to optimize the life cycle cost of the asset and to improve equipment reliability;
  2. Manage and lead the maintenance team to perform the required activities: inspection, data collection, preventative maintenance, repairs and improvements.
  3. Determine predictive strategies to monitor equipment deterioration, prevent failures, and reduce impact on operation and maintenance cost;
  4. Optimize the inventory management by implementing industrial best practices and by reducing inventory costs based on risks; Provide support to implement effective industrial best-in-class methods in asset maintenance;
  5. Liaise and collaborate with Veolia colleagues specialized in asset maintenance to share ideas and initiatives that can be beneficial to the project / plant.
  6. Implement strong maintenance practices to ensure the highest possible level of health and safety

Leadership and teamwork

Be a great team member for both the local, project team, the broader community and the greater Veolia team

  1. Establish a culture of continuous improvement by providing guidance and leadership in workforce and asset maintenance;
  2. Promote a culture of safe work practices;
  3. Contribute to managing & reviewing maintenance training & safety compliance records.
  4. Participate and conduct routine staff meetings to demonstrate achievement of best practice Key Performance Indicators;
  5. Ensure knowledge transfer through development of subordinates and ensures appropriate training for staff;
  6. Contributes to the Veolia asset management and maintenance managers network
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Technical certification(s) in related disciplines and/or college degree in Engineering preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in asset maintenance in industrial environment (waste and water treatment preferable)
  • 5 years' experience in a managerial or supervisory role in the electro-mechanical field
  • Effective interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite and Google applications
  • Must be able to deal effectively with all levels of staff, management and organized labor groups
  • Proficient with planning, budgeting, and variance analysis
  • Ability for emergency stand-by
  • Well versed in best practices in environmental, health and safety
  • Knowledge of Maintenance Management planning
  • Knowledge and experience in the operation and maintenance of water treatment chemical application equipment.
  • Working knowledge of typical machine shop skills

Work Environment:

Permanent position, offered on a full-time basis, with working schedules from Monday to Friday, day time.
