About the Role

The City of Vancouver is seeking an experienced Office Support Specialist to join our team in the Engineering Services department. As an Office Support Specialist, you will play a key role in providing administrative support to our team, ensuring the smooth operation of our daily activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the team, including responding to inquiries, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assist in the coordination of projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Develop and maintain databases, spreadsheets, and other tools to support team operations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure seamless collaboration and information exchange.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team's goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Completion of Grade 12, supplemented by courses in commercial subjects, typing, Excel, word processing, and sound-related experience.
  • Experience working in an environment where similar administrative tasks are performed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in software programs, including Hansen, Microsoft Office, VanMap, VanDocs, and SAP.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
