Communications & Events Specialist Internship
This internship offers the opportunity to work as the main internal communications support for the SAP Labs Montreal Office, aligning with the national comms strategy and teammates in Vancouver and Waterloo.
About the Role
The Communications & Events Specialist Intern will be responsible for creating compelling and engaging content across a multi-channel environment, creating and managing events (in-person, virtual and hybrid), and taking part in planning, promoting, and executing on national events as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and manage detailed project plans, timelines and budgets, and execute end-to-end
- Define project scope and objectives, determine a work plan for team members to support events as needed, track event performance periodically and identify areas for improvement
- Create compelling and effective graphic designs and marketing collateral, including digital signage, SharePoint landing pages, e-mail banners, newsletters and event branding
- Channel your inner journalist to share great stories from SAP Labs Canada across the company and at times, externally
- Turn great event recaps into social media shareables
- Provide logistics support for Managing Director's office as necessary: liaising with event suppliers, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, and coordinating meeting logistics, etc.
- Communicate and collaborate with internal partners (e.g. IT, Facilities, Security) as well as external SAP vendors such as caterers and event companies
- Other communication/administration duties/projects as assigned

Requirements
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills:
- Fluent in both oral and written English, French language a differentiator
- Understands business writing style
- Understands how to message across different audiences
- Able to turn ideas and concepts into visually relevant and effective material
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Thinks like a marketer when it comes to events
- Shows initiative and leadership to run projects and solve challenges
- Event coordination (online, in-person and hybrid) and project management
- Welcomes feedback and suggestions
- Exercises mature judgement and handles situations with diplomacy and tact
- Is organized, detail-oriented and knows how to prioritize tasks
- Excellent Word and PowerPoint skills. Basic Excel skills
- Excited about Graphic Design. Knowledgeable about industry trends in branding
- Experience with one of the following: Canva, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite
- Videography, editing and production skills a plus
- Has a bachelor's degree in (or pursuit of) Communications, Marketing or equivalent
- This role is best for someone in their second co-op term, or beyond
- Past experience in the tech industry is an asset
- Willing to commit for a full-time internship
