Job SummaryThis is a mid-level position that requires a strong understanding of project scheduling, cost control, and project owner specifications. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing electrical aspects of commercial construction projects and will be responsible for ensuring project meets/exceeds financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and monitor each stage of development to ensure project meets/exceeds financial objectives
- Coordinate daily/weekly meetings with other superintendents and project engineers to develop project means/methods, schedule contracting needs, and long lead delivery times
- Manage electrical field operations and work sequence in conjunction with the Project Manager
- Oversee and approve monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections
- Establish work plans and staffing needs for each phase of the project
- Form and lead an effective project management team
- Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise
- Ensure electricians and engineers understand and execute work as required by client/project specifications
- Ensure safety, quality, and production is always maintained
- Responsible for project closeout: securing loose ends by finishing paperwork, obtaining retainages, supporting supervisors, and expediting claims
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field
- At least 5 years of work experience managing electrical aspects of commercial construction projects
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost control, project owner specifications, engineering drawings, and other project documents/reports
- Ability to work successfully both independently and as a team to meet project goals and deadline
- Strong work ethic - willing to do what it takes to get the job done the first time
- Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
