Hi There

We are a loving family of 3 located in Kelowna, BC and are seeking an experienced and compassionate nanny to provide after-school care for our (soon-to-be) 5-year-old son. Our ideal candidate is nurturing, responsible, and passionate about childcare. Beginning September 2024, the schedule revolves around our son's school hours, making it an ideal role for someone seeking part-time work.

About the role:
Start Date: September 1st, 2024
Hours Per Week: 10 hours (Monday-Friday, 2:30pm-4:30pm)
Wage: $20.00 per hour

About our family:
Although we are full-time professionals, we are all about family and prioritize spending time with each other above all else. Our household is full of love, one furry friend (Norris, our 7-year-old whoodle), and lots of adventures Originally from BC's Kootenay region, we are outdoor enthusiasts. When not at home, you'll find us biking, hiking, fishing, camping, paddleboarding, skiing, sledding, etc. On holidays, we go all out We enjoy decorating, creating new traditions, eating good food, and making so many memories. Having lived in Kelowna for over 15 years, we have set down deep roots and consider the Okanagan our home. With our son entering kindergarten this fall, we are looking for a nanny to support our family in this next stage.

Responsibilities of the role include:

•Picking our son up from school promptly at 2:30pm, transporting him home, and providing care until 4:30pm

•Providing attentive care to our child, ensuring his safety and well-being at all times

•Organizing and facilitating age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities

•Preparing nutritious snacks

•Maintaining a tidy and organized environment

•Promoting healthy habits in our child, balancing fun activities with responsibility (i.e.: ensuring he helps out with age-appropriate tasks and clean up)

•Collaborating with us and developing a mutually trusting relationship to ensure consistency in care and routines

•Modeling effective communication and expressions of feelings

Qualifications:

•Available Monday-Friday, 2:30pm-4:30pm

•Proven experience as a nanny, with excellent references from previous families

•Kind, caring, patient, trustworthy, and reliable

•Fun, creative, and energetic

•CPR and/or First Aid certification

•Valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and access to a safe and reliable vehicle

•Knowledge and awareness of child development

•Background in early childhood education, teaching or another related field preferred

•Non smoker
