Deputy Director of Finance


The Village seeks a dynamic individual to join the finance team in an evolving role within the organization. Personality is key

The ideal candidate will possess or be working towards a professional accounting designation with public sector experience. This key individual must have the ability to work well as member of a high-functioning team, enthusiasm to learn and contribute, and the desire to grow in a flexible, expanding position within the Village.

Desired knowledge and skills include:

Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Public Sector Accounting Board standards (PSAB) and municipal/fund accounting.Understanding of BC municipal legislation as it relates to finance.Experience with asset management policies and practices.Written and verbal ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and financial software.Ability to interact professionally and positively with staff, council, and members of the community.Support of financial functions including accounting, budgeting/financial planning, reporting, processes and policies and risk management.
