Your Role at EXP

As an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Mechanical & Electrical Engineering team in the Building & Industry sector, based in Fredericton, Saint John, or Moncton, NB. You will work on a diverse portfolio of projects in the Atlantic region and across Canada.

A Day in the Life at EXP

  • Prepare drawings, specifications, and reports for project delivery
  • Design mechanical building systems including HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, and specialized systems
  • Create project-specific details and building sections for coordination
  • Size ductwork, HVAC, piping, and equipment through calculations and technical drawings
  • Communicate project status internally and externally
  • Assess facility conditions and conduct feasibility studies
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed

Your Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in construction document preparation and cost estimation
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) licensed with APEGNB or eligible for registration
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems design, project management, and relevant standards
  • Proficiency in REVIT/BIM is advantageous
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment with strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with energy modeling and auditing is a plus
