This opportunity is within the Renewable Energy sector of the Power Division, focusing on projects related to wind, solar, and battery storage. Collaborating with both public and private sector clients, we undertake innovative projects that showcase our team's skills and help mentor future passionate individuals.

WSP is currently in search of a Wind Energy Analyst to join the Renewable Resource Assessment Team. In this role, you will be responsible for data analysis, project design, and energy modeling for utility-scale wind energy projects in North America. This position is perfect for someone with a keen interest in technical data analysis and renewable energy.

A glimpse into your daily tasks:

  • Collaborate with WSP field staff and the WindServer TM team on meteorological deployment plans.
  • Analyze meteorological and production data using in-house scripts and software tools.
  • Conduct wind flow modeling using various techniques.
  • Perform wind resource calculations and assess facility performance.
  • Evaluate renewable energy technologies and operational wind farms.
  • Optimize turbine selection and layout for energy efficiency.
  • Organize geospatial data and drive process development for energy assessment improvement.

What we're looking for:

  • Min. 4 years of experience in wind energy or meteorology.
  • Engineering, meteorology, or relevant degree.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Matlab and Python.
  • Experience in meteorological phenomena and wind flow modeling software.
  • Problem-solving skills and affinity for process enhancement.
  • Strong work ethic and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage responsibilities and projects efficiently.
