About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned industrial technology advisor to join our team at the National Research Council Canada. As a senior-career industrial technology advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) in helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) grow and prosper.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and business advice to SMEs to help them navigate technical or business hurdles and identify new opportunities.
  • Work with company leaders to help them commercialize innovation and grow their businesses.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and partnerships for IRAP.
  • Collaborate with other teams to provide comprehensive support to SMEs.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in Science or Engineering in a discipline related to the position from a recognized university.
  • Recent and extensive industrial business experience as an entrepreneur or senior manager in one or more of the following technological domains: mining, advanced manufacturing.
  • Recent and extensive private sector experience in developing and commercializing innovative products or services, with demonstrable outcomes.
  • Experience in international business development and/or intellectual property management would be considered an asset.
