Heavy Duty Mechanic

West Fraser is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at Cariboo Pulp and Paper in Quesnel, BC. As a key player in our continuous improvement effort, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our mobile equipment fleet, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with heavy duty machinery and diesel engines
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime
- Collaborate with the Garage Maintenance Supervisor to implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Utilize knowledge and skills to recognize opportunities for improvements and savings
- Valid Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic certification
- Heavy industry experience
- Commitment to working safely and creating a safe work place
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently with little supervision
- Competitive hourly pay rate following the collective agreement between Unifor 1115 and Cariboo Pulp & Paper Company
