Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at Home and Community Care Support Services. As a key member of our team, you will provide administrative and clerical support to our healthcare professionals, ensuring that patients receive prompt and effective customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to healthcare professionals, including data entry, filing, and record maintenance.
- Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Manage client records, including scanning and data entry, and ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Process requisitions, prepare related documents, and monitor inventory of supplies.
- Assist with projects and initiatives related to job responsibilities, participate in orientation and committees, and perform other related duties as requested.
Requirements:
- High school graduation diploma plus one year of Community College diploma in Office Administration, Business, Health Administration, or equivalent program.
- Minimum 18 months of previous experience in similar customer service or related position in the health, social, or business administration fields.
- Demonstrated knowledge of office procedures, including filing and record maintenance, and operation of telephone systems and office equipment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of a variety of computer software applications, including email and the internet.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with ability to work with multiple stakeholders, including staff, service providers, clients, and caregivers.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position with a rotating shift schedule that provides coverage between the hours of 8am and 8pm, seven days a week. The successful candidate will be required to work every second weekend as part of this rotation.
