As an Associate Producer, you will play a key role in the production of our radio and video content, working closely with producers and reporters to deliver high-quality editorial material.
About the Role- Contribute to the development of program content and participate in the preparation of program objectives.
- Direct live radio program teams in studio and perform on-air duties through various platforms.
- Obtain technical and production resources required by the program, including studios, crews, lines, uplinks, remotes, and other equipment.
- Assist in developing program and digital/video content, including writing, researching, field production, and editing.
- Prepare scripts and ensure adherence to the style and format of the program.
- Organize the participation of interviewees, creative contributors, and other participants, and conduct or arrange for necessary research.
- Maintain contact files and create content for digital social platforms as required.
- Participate in the evaluation of all aspects of the production and adhere to journalistic standards and practices.
- Community connections and a deep understanding and appreciation of the diversity of perspective and opinion in Northern BC.
- Familiarity and proven connections with Black, Indigenous and People of Colour communities, people living with a disability, and other underrepresented communities in British Columbia and across Canada.
- A deep understanding of BC's northern geography and diverse issues.
- Ability to generate, pitch, and pursue strong story ideas.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a team and lead your work group when necessary.
- Ability to work independently and maintain communication with a remote team.
- Strong writing and editorial abilities.
