We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker II to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. Reporting to the Maintenance & Operations Assistant Manager, this role will perform a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled tasks related to the upkeep of our properties and related infrastructure.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, monitoring, maintaining, and servicing all grounds and facility-related infrastructure and equipment, as well as aiding other maintenance and operations trades. They will also be responsible for maintaining and following operational, equipment, tools, and safety codes, standards, and procedures.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a successful completion of a 1-year certificate or diploma in a technical trade, such as electrical, plumbing, or carpentry, or a registered apprentice. A 4th Class Power Engineer certificate may also be considered. The ideal candidate will have 3 months of relevant work experience and be able to work shifts.
Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset. Please note that applicants relying on equivalencies must demonstrate such equivalency in their application.
Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $26.35. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
