Role Summary

Aecon has been selected by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) to spearhead the design and construction of the Interstate-90 (I-90)/State Road-18 (SR-18) to Deep Creek Interchange Improvements in Snoqualmie, Washington. This involves constructing a four-lane diverging diamond interchange, widening SR-18 to four lanes, building a four-lane bridge over Deep Creek, and a two-lane bridge over Raging River.

In this role, reporting to the Construction Manager or designated Aecon personnel, the Field Engineer will provide critical field-engineering guidance to ensure that construction activities align with design specifications and standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily with project teams to ensure smooth progress within schedule and budget constraints.
  • Review and manage project documentation, including design specifications and material requirements.
  • Offer technical insights for project scheduling and risk assessment to uphold budget and timeline parameters.
  • Monitor project performance by evaluating daily production and budgetary projections.
  • Communicate promptly regarding any schedule variations and propose solutions for management review.
  • Provide accurate project quantity management using assigned cost coding for precise financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications throughout all project phases.
  • Collaborate with construction crews and engineering leaders on field layout planning.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities as necessary.
  • Conduct project close-out procedures in alignment with project requirements.
  • Undertake other duties as directed by management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Background in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience as a Field Engineer or Project Coordinator, preferably in heavy civil construction.
  • Familiarity with construction equipment, techniques, and industry-related software.
  • Proficiency in construction software and MS Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both in field and office settings.
