In this role you will work closely with senior members of the team to advance a variety of projects important to the ministry, including working closely with the college sector to review and seek approval for new diploma, certificate and graduate certificate programs.
In this role you can expect a mix of in-person and remote work as well as the option to participate in the branches compressed work week program.
Join us for one of two information sessions on Friday, May 10th - 12:00 to 1:00pm and Tuesday, May :00 to 1:00pm.
You will have a chance to learn more about the unit and the work we do as well as specific information about the role.

Effective April 1, 2024 the salary range for this position is $71,563 to $100,052 per year in compliance with AMAPCEO collective agreement provisions.
The new rates, effective retroactive to April 1, 2024, were recently confirmed and dates for implementation of the new salary rates are still to be determined.

What can I expect to do in this role?You will:
- undertake policy, issues analysis and assigned projects, and participate in the monitoring of existing policy and programs
- contribute to the development of policy and program recommendations
- plan, undertake and coordinate quantitative and qualitative research and analysis
- develop and maintain contacts with key internal and external stakeholders
- provide input into the development of communication strategies
- draft policy and research papers, memoranda, and correspondence as well as presentations and briefing materials
- You must possess oral and written French language skills at the superior level. Your proficiency level will be confirmed before hire.
- You have strong knowledge of program and policy development principles to carry out analysis and preparation of new or revised policy/program options/recommendations.
- You have experience applying program analysis and evaluation techniques to assess the effectiveness of new/changed policies and programs, and make recommendations on policy and program changes.
Analytical Skills:
- You have demonstrated skills in project management research and analytical techniques, including knowledge of survey techniques, performance measures and financial modelling that support policy and program decision-making.
- You think in strategic terms and conduct policy research (monitor trends, direction and issues), analyze financial information and multiple sources of information (qualitative and quantitative) to assess and make recommendations.
Conflict Resolution Skills:
- You have presentation, oral and written communication skills and experience conducting public consultations and applying communication principles and methods to lead consultations and draft policy papers, reports, briefing notes, materials for Cabinet submissions, etc.
- You demonstrate persuasion, conflict resolution, and facilitation skills to work with policy teams, exchange information and formulate solutions.
- You have experience using computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, project scheduling and internet to research and prepare own materials.
