We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our Manufacturing East Routine Maintenance Team.

We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our Manufacturing East Routine Maintenance Team. The successful candidate will install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot stationary mechanical equipment and industrial machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute maintenance job tasks in a safe, professional manner.
• Read diagrams and schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures.
• Operate rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts.
• Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts.
• Align and test equipment and make any necessary adjustments.
• Perform predictive and operational maintenance using procedures such as vibration analysis, and repair or replace defective parts when necessary.
• Service and repair hydraulic, pneumatic systems and controls.
• Update and maintain equipment history.
• Maintain inventory of replacement parts and critical spares.
• Exercise troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques using appropriate operating and technical inputs.
• Network with support services.
• Rotate within work teams across Manufacturing East.
• Contribute to the success of the Maintenance Services team by supporting the World Class Reliability Program (WCR) and the Maintenance Work Management System (MWM).
• Attend and facilitate meetings, schedules and appointments as required.
• Share achievements and business results.

Requirements:

• Millwright Mechanical Technician (MTIM) or equivalent college diploma AND/OR holder of a Red Seal Certification for Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A).
• Co-op experience will be considered an asset.
• Recent relevant experience in a maintenance environment.
• Sound mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge established in a maintenance setting.
• Ability to comply with all Responsible Care policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Ability to function with minimum supervision.
• Good interpersonal and team skills.
• Flexibility to work alternative work schedules in a 24-hour, 7 day/week operation.
• Participate in scheduled and unscheduled shutdown and turnaround activities.
• Capability to develop in-depth knowledge of site equipment and processes including the Maintenance Work Management System.
• Ability to participate in the development and execution of multi-skilling.
• Ability to obtain a solid working knowledge of SAP notification, orders, and P/PM scheduling activities both in searching and user-entered functional activities.
