We are currently seeking male healthcare professionals to deliver personal care services to male clients who prefer caregivers of the same gender.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Companion role involves providing direct observation and companionship to clients in their homes under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years old
  • Ability to read, write, and follow a written Aide Care Plan
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Showcases reliability, tact, patience, and the ability to follow instructions
  • Strong interpersonal communication and empathy towards individuals in need
  • Demonstrates compassion and understanding towards the elderly and individuals with disabilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Operate within the scope of the assigned tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities may include supervision and engaging in activities that enhance the client's overall well-being. Typically, Companion duties exclude direct personal care activities such as bathing and dressing.

Promptly address client requests

Offer companionship, engage in social activities, and provide light housekeeping

Assist with meal preparation as outlined in the Aide Care Plan

Adhere to infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene practices

Maintain open communication with the Clinical Supervisor and the interdisciplinary team

Accurately document care provided and relevant observations as per the Aide Care Plan

Show respect to clients and their families while maintaining confidentiality

Accept and carry out assignments from the Agency and exercise discretion in task acceptance

Attend mandatory training sessions as per Agency guidelines
