Job Summary:

About the Role:

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide emotional and physical support to residents, including those with dementia and other complex needs
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident
  • Participate in education and training programs to enhance your skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful work environment that values diversity and inclusivity

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support to residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Assist residents with meals and snacks, and promote healthy eating habits
  • Help residents with mobility and transfers, and provide support with walking and exercise programs
  • Monitor and report changes in resident health status, and participate in care planning and decision-making
  • Document resident care and progress, and maintain accurate and up-to-date records

Requirements:

  • Recognized Health Care Aide Certificate or completed two years of accepted registered nursing education program
  • One year of previous experience as a Health Care Aide, preferably in a personal care home setting
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Physical and mental health to meet the demands of the role, and ability to lift and transfer residents as required
