Industrial Mechanic Journeyperson

The City of Regina is seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic Journeyperson to join our Water Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of critical infrastructure, including the asphalt plant, wastewater treatment plant, storm and wastewater collection systems, and water supply systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Inspect, assess, monitor, maintain, service, and operate equipment, systems, and facilities.
- Participate in the development, modification, and implementation of preventive maintenance programs, operating procedures, work processes, and safety programs.
- Diagnose system defects, mechanical defects, and/or equipment malfunctions and determine corrective action materials and supplies required.
- Supervise and direct staff and contractors involved in the mechanical maintenance, general maintenance, operations, and servicing of equipment, systems, and facilities.
- Interpret and communicate specifications, blueprints, drawings, diagrams, work orders, and city policies and standards to staff and contractors to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Completion of Grade twelve (12) and successful completion of a Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic Certificate from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 4000 hours (2 years) of industrial mechanic journeyperson experience.
- Thorough knowledge of industrial mechanics related to the mechanical maintenance of equipment, systems, and facilities.
- Knowledge of mechanical process operations, materials, equipment, methods, and other resources in municipal facilities or comparable industry facilities.
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Willing to work shift and/or irregular hours and be on standby.
- May be required to respond to call-outs and emergencies as required.
