The Indigenous Home Attendant position provides care directly to community members through supporting everyday needs. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to make a positive impact in their community and work in a culturally safe environment.

Job Summary
  • Promote physical, emotional, cultural, social, and spiritual well-being of clients
  • Provide companionship and/or home-based leisure/meaningful respite activities
  • Assist with and accompany clients for mealtime activities
  • Perform light housekeeping duties
  • Wash, dry, and fold laundry
Responsibilities
  1. Observe clients and their environments, and report behavioural, physical, and/or cognitive changes as well as unsafe conditions to supervisor
  2. Participate in staff meetings, quality improvement initiatives, committees, and in-services
  3. Complete and maintain related records and documentation
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 12
  • Class V Driver's License and access to personal vehicle
  • Food Safe certification (online training provided)
