Sterile Processing Technician: Training Provided

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain autoclaves and other equipment to clean, decontaminate, and sterilize instruments and equipment.
- Inspect and assemble instruments, trays, and packs to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Coordinate the assembly and distribution of supplies, equipment, and instruments for surgical cases.
- Restock inventory and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Collaborate with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets and equipment in a timely and accurate manner.
- Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician or Certified Registered Central Service Technician within 1 year of hire.
- Preferred: Completion of a National Central Service Technician course and/or 6 months experience as a Sterile Processing Technician.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office applications.
- Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communications in English.
This role requires the ability to move around the area with occasional sitting, fine motor skills to grasp and control medical equipment, and the ability to lift/carry up to 25 lbs. frequently. Exposure to biohazard, body fluids, and airborne particles is also a requirement.
