Our Canada Sustainability Team is currently seeking a Senior Building Decarbonization Consultant to grow our portfolio of Decarbonization and Energy Efficiency work in Canada. At Arup, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. The successful applicant will join our sustainability team in our efforts to build a better world. You will also be working with and advising technical Arup staff, managing projects, bidding and winning work, talking to clients, facilitating workshops, and managing the sustainability certification process on projects. You will have specific experience in the areas of low energy/carbon design and retrofit for buildings, renewable energy and microgrids, GHG Protocol (particularly Scope 1 and 2 emissions), and design for efficient water use. We are particularly interested in applicants with net-zero or low-energy building retrofit experience at the building, campus, and portfolio scale.
Responsibilities
• Act as bid manager and lead Decarbonization and Energy Efficiency bids and proposal development. Participating and support in bid reviews and proposals for multi-disciplinary building design with significant low carbon, energy and sustainability requirement / scope of work.
• Act as a Project Manager for decarbonization and energy efficiency projects establishing budget, timeline and quality targets for each of our project work.
• Manage client expectation and organisational change on your projects, as well growing your client network to generate intelligence and leads related to project opportunities.
• Ensure technical excellence in all decarbonization and energy efficiency work to clients.
• Act as the go-to decarbonization and energy efficiency Authority.
• Provide training and skills development within the team on projects, demonstrate and promote creativity and innovation on project approach, processes and work, particularly around digital integration and automation.
• Support the Global/Regional Decarbonization and Energy Efficiency Skills Network and various other initiatives.
• Lead and participate in design reviews on relevant projects
Qualifications
• Bachelor or master's degree or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical engineering and other teams
• Minimum 8 years of relevant energy efficiency, low carbon and sustainability consulting/research experience.
• Solid fundamental technical knowledge in building service systems, low carbon strategies and sustainable development frameworks development, both for new buildings and for existing building retrofits. Including building physics analysis, lifecycle cost assessment, and sustainability design frameworks (i.e. LEED, WELL, etc).
• Professional designations such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM), LEED AP, WELL AP or similar are preferred.
• Understanding of the low/zero carbon, energy efficiency & sustainability market trends, policies, regulations and standards.
• Collaborative, helpful, "can-do" and client focused attitude.
• Ability to communicate with clients of all types (ex. architects, developers, facility managers, policy makers, etc.)
Toronto Hiring Range - Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Toronto is $120,000 to $150,000 per year/hour/month. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.

Responsabilités
• Assurer la gestion des dossiers d'appel d'offres et d'offres de services en matière de décarbonation et d'efficacité énergétique; participer à l'examen et à l'élaboration des soumissions et des propositions relatives à la conception de bâtiments multidisciplinaires comportant des exigences rigoureuses en matière de faibles émissions de carbone, d'efficacité énergétique et de développement durable;
• Agir comme chargé de projet dans le cadre de mandats de décarbonisation et d'efficacité énergétique; établir les budgets, les échéanciers et les objectifs de qualité pour nos projets;
• Gérer les attentes des clients et les changements organisationnels liés aux projets; élargir le réseau de clients afin de favoriser les échanges et d'identifier des opportunités de projets potentiels;
• Garantir l'excellence technique de tous les projets de décarbonation et d'efficacité énergétiques livrés aux clients;
• Agir en tant qu'autorité compétente en matière de décarbonation et d'efficacité énergétique;
• Assurer la formation et le perfectionnement des membres de l'équipe dans le contexte des projets, faire preuve de créativité et promouvoir l'innovation à l'égard de l'approche, des processus et des tâches du projet, notamment en ce qui concerne l'intégration numérique et l'automatisation;

Qualifications
• Baccalauréat, maîtrise ou expérience équivalente en génie mécanique, électrique ou un autre domaine pertinent;
• Au moins 8 ans d'expérience significative dans le domaine de l'efficacité énergétique, de la réduction des émissions de carbone et du développement durable, en tant que consultant ou chercheur;
• Solides connaissances techniques en matière de systèmes de gestion des bâtiments, de stratégies à faible émission de carbone et d'élaboration de cadres de développement durable, tant pour les nouveaux bâtiments que pour la rénovation de bâtiments existants.
