Detailed OverviewThe Registered Nurse will provide nursing care based on established standards; assess patients' needs, plan, implement, and document care plans; maintain patient records; initiate discharge planning; maintain a safe environment; participate in quality improvement activities and research; educate nursing staff; utilize resources efficiently; participate in hospital committees.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients based on established standards.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the interprofessional team.
- Provide teaching to patients and families.
- Maintain patient records and document care.
- Initiate discharge planning and act as an advocate for patients.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and research.
- Orient and educate nursing staff and students.
- Utilize resources efficiently.
- Participate in hospital committees for improvement of patient care.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Graduation from an approved Nursing school and current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
