Job Profile

We are currently looking for Temporary Labourers to join us starting in April 2024. Below is an overview of the application and selection process:

  • Screening of Applications: December 2023/January 2024.
  • Interviewing Applicants: January/February 2024.
What you will be doing

Positions available in parks and cemeteries involve various responsibilities:

  • Grounds maintenance including pruning, grass cutting, trimming, digging, raking, leaf and garbage removal, and more.
  • Experience with chainsaw operation and arena maintenance is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of turf maintenance equipment is an advantage.
  • Experience with small and heavy equipment operation is preferred.
Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12 OSS Diploma or equivalent in Ontario.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada.
  • Minimum one year of relevant work experience.
  • Valid Class G Driver's License or higher.
  • Valid Police Information Check (dated within the last six months).
  • First Aid, CPR, and WHMIS training preferred.
  • Effective communication and ability to follow instructions.
  • Physically able to meet the demands of the position.

Confirmation of physical capability, Police Criminal Record Check, educational qualifications proof, valid driver's licenses, and relevant certificates.

Your compensation

This position follows the compensation schedule of CUPE 32 (outside workers) with hourly rates for 2024 as follows:

  • Starting Rate: $24.65
  • Returning 2nd season rate: $25.39
  • Returning 2+ season rate: $26.15
