Security Officer Job Description

This position is located at a hospital in Sydney, Nova Scotia. You must be located in the area to be considered.

As a Security Officer, you will respond to alarms, emergency requests, and use your excellent verbal de-escalation skills to resolve incidents.

You will maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling private information, and provide exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service and respond to site emergencies.
  • Monitor site visitors and perform ID checks in accordance with site policies and procedures.
  • Prevent theft, violence, or infraction of rules and regulations.
  • Effectively communicate all suspicious activities, concerns, issues, and events to our dispatch team.
  • Prepare and maintain professional and effective reports regarding the activities, security violations, and hazardous occurrences on site.
  • Patrol the facility to prevent potential conflicts.
Requirements:
  • Provide exceptional customer service and be comfortable standing for long periods of time.
  • Hold a valid First Aid/CPR certification or be willing to obtain one prior to getting hired.
  • Be eligible to work in Canada and have prior experience working in Security or Customer Service.
