Controller-Professional Services

- Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements;
- Establishing and maintaining and effective internal control environment to minimize operational risks due to fraud or error;
- Researching and providing recommendations to the Director, Finance on accounting and compliance issues;
- Supervising Accounts Receivable/Collections, Accounts Payable, Client Information Verification compliance, and general accounting functions;
- Assisting in the development and monitoring of key performance indicators for all accounting functions;
- Providing cross-training and support for all accounting functions;
- Ensuring that the accounting system operates in an efficient and effective manner with a focus on continual improvement and exemplary customer service;
- Serving as a liaison to external auditors;
- Creating, preparing and maintaining various periodic ad hoc reports and analyses to support departmental and management decision-making
- Development and implementation of the firm's budget and forecasting requirements and processes;
- Establishing and maintaining internal reporting functions to support firm priorities, including the development of financial models to support strategic decision making;
- Developing, documenting and maintaining appropriate reporting policies and procedures for various reporting processes and projects;
- Completing ad hoc projects as requested by management
- Other duties as assigned.
- University undergraduate degree in a related field (business or accounting preferred);
- A professional accounting designation in good standing;
- A minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience;
- A minimum of two years of managerial experience, with a proven ability to develop team relationships and
- guide/lead a team to high quality results;
- Professional manner with capacity to maintain high level of confidentiality;
- Advanced computer skills with Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Experience with Elite 3E or similar ERP software and SQL;
- Excellent communication skills and a focus on exceptional client service;
- Experience in a professional services environment considered a strong asset.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen effectively and respond
- appropriately;
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail to produce high quality and accurate work;
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding the firm and its clients;

- Demonstrated integrity, flexibility, professional judgement and collaborative approach to work;
- Solid decision-making and problem-solving skills coupled with a willingness to learn and to adapt to
- changing demands;
- Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimal direction;
- A high level of initiative and resourcefulness with excellent analysis skills; and,
- Ability to prioritize tasks by deadline, work calmly under pressure and manage high volume of work in a
- fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
