Procurement Buyer Role

The Procurement Buyer is responsible for managing procurement activities for assigned faculties/admin units, providing advice and education on procurement best practices, and building strong relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement Coordination: Works with faculty/admin units and procurement partners to understand and fulfill procurement activities, provides critical assessment and guidance, resolves problems with end users and suppliers.
  • Project Coordination: Manages small to medium procurement projects, provides procurement advice and direction, oversees project activities, and prepares reports to support project costs and key performance indicators.
  • Administration: Ensures procurement activities are in compliance with regulations and laws, monitors and expedites open purchase orders, reviews requisitions, and prepares accurate records and documentation.
Requirements
  • Two-year diploma in Purchasing Management or equivalent.
  • Working towards the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation or equivalent designation.
  • ERP experience, working knowledge of the end-to-end procurement cycle, prior commercial purchasing experience, and customer service experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, time manage, communicate clearly, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and negotiate strong deals.
