Job SummaryBureau Veritas is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Analyst 1 to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory, you will be responsible for performing chemical analysis using various laboratory instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct chemical analysis using laboratory instrumentation, including sample preparation and testing.
- Organize samples for each day based on turnaround time and holding time requirements.
- Report sample results using Excel and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Prepare reagents and document accordingly.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure that working records are completed and raw data is appropriately labeled.
- Ensure general housekeeping of the laboratory and workstations.
- Prepare and clean glassware required for sample analysis.
- Prepare samples, sub-samples, and reagents, and ensure they are properly labeled and stored.
- Perform simple analysis, including operation of balances and meters.
- Maintain up-to-date maintenance records for instrumentation.
- Meet quality and turnaround time specifications required by clients and ensure samples are analyzed within holding time requirements.
- Provide supervisors with updates on workstation status, including advance notification of any delays.
- Maintain control charts as per quality assurance manual requirements and monitor for failure to meet tolerances.
- Consult with supervisors regarding remedial action.
- Technical diploma or B.Sc. in a relevant field.
- Knowledge of standard operating procedures and instrumental techniques.
- Basic laboratory cleanliness skills.
- Good analytical laboratory skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good multi-tasking abilities.
- Good independent worker.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
