Registered Nurse - HealthLine 811 Job Title: Registered Nurse Company: HealthLine 811 Job Summary:

HealthLine 811 is a technology-rich, evolving provincial program that offers free, confidential health, mental health & addictions information and supportive telephone advice available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to all residents of Saskatchewan.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide health information, service referral, assessment and triage for inbound callers.
• Work in a team environment with Social Workers and Psychiatric Registered Nurses.
• Use high levels of independent assessment skills to provide effective care.

Requirements:

• Recent acute care experience.
• 5 years clinical experience using high levels of independent assessment skills.

Education:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Other Education and Training:

• Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
• Nursing diploma is acceptable

Knowledge & Abilities:

• Working knowledge of computers and strong keyboarding skills, Minimum typing speed of 25 wpm.
• Effective listening, assessment and communication skills are considered an asset in a telephone triage contact centre to assist callers in finding the most appropriate solution for their health concern.

Work Environment:

• Healthline 811 is a safe and clean environment.
• Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
• Must be available at any time during shift to assist another caller/patient.
• All clinician roles at Healthline 811 are sedentary.
