Key Responsibilities:- Process clinically reviewed and approved medication orders for distribution to patients, clients, or residents.
- Receive prescriptions from practitioners and verify their completeness and authenticity.
- Prepare and process prescriptions by entering orders, counting, measuring, packaging, or re-packaging medications and compounding sterile pharmaceutical products.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of dispensed prescriptions by verifying order entries and performing final checks.
- Process prescriptions for temporary inpatient leaves of absence by reviewing, translating, and converting existing inpatient medication orders.
- Enter and maintain accurate records of medication verification and quality assurance checks.
- Distribute medications and maintain relevant inventory, wardstock, and narcotic records.
- Grade 12 and graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current practicing registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively and physically able to carry out the duties of the position.
