Peace Arch Hospital is seeking an Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our team. The successful candidate will have dual subspecialty experience in hip and knee arthroplasty and orthopaedic trauma. These areas are targeted to better serve our growing community.

Successful applicants would be expected to open an elective practice in the White Rock/South Surrey area, apply for an appointment to the UBC Orthopaedics Department, and to teach medical students.

The clinical requirements and expected expertise held by the candidate are as follows:

• Fellowship training in Hip and Knee Reconstruction and Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery
• Ability to deal with complex single limb and general orthopaedic trauma
• Provide on call coverage to the hospital equivalent to a full-time equivalent (FTE) surgeon
• Do elective operative work at Peace Arch Hospital with operative resources eventually scaled up to FTE surgeon

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, willingness to work as a team, and being adaptable to fit within the existing structure is required.

Peace Arch Hospital is a 146-bed community hospital serving the residents of White Rock and South Surrey. We see level IV single limb and single system trauma. Our campus is currently in an expansion phase with a new Emergency Department, new Medical Device Reprocessing, and 6 new state of art Operating Theatres that opened in 2022. Elective operating room time and cast clinic resources will be provided to the successful candidate.

White Rock and South Surrey are beautiful seaside communities with a combined population of about people. You will find kilometers of coastline and some of the best beaches in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. The area is culturally diverse with unique dining. There are excellent family amenities and excellent schools. Vancouver is 45 minutes to the north and the Washington State border is 10 minutes to the south.
