Job SummaryThe Night Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the production floor, ensuring an efficient workflow, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the achievement of production targets.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of production workers, including machine operators, assemblers, and quality inspectors, promoting a positive work environment and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Oversee production activities, ensuring schedules are completed on time and product quality is maintained.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, quality metrics, and downtime.
- Work closely with the quality assurance team to resolve any issues, implementing quality control procedures and conducting regular inspections.
- Enforce safety policies, conduct regular safety audits, and ensure compliance with regulations including OSHA and company-specific standards.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to increase efficiency and reduce waste; participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to optimize equipment performance and reliability.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities; prepare and present reports on production metrics, quality, and safety.
- Significant experience in a manufacturing environment, with several years in a team lead or supervisory role.
- A relevant educational background (Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, Business Management, or a related field) is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is an asset.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
