You are an integral member of the Kicking Horse team, ensuring that our parking lots are well-maintained so guests can enjoy the Champagne Powder Capital of Canada You take initiative and are self-directed, operating all equipment in a safe manner. You work cooperatively within a team and continually strive to provide our guests the finest mountain recreational experience by providing a safe and well-maintained base area.
You will:
- Operate snow removal and other equipment (front-end loader, bobcat, large snow plows, snow blowers) in a safe and responsible manner.
- Perform snow removal maintenance of facilities, parking lots, plaza and general common areas.
- Carry out daily light maintenance to equipment (topping up fluids, etc.).
- Perform pre and post-trip inspections including removal of snow from equipment at end of shift.
- Be an advocate for health and safety, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
- Work flexible shifts, including evenings, early mornings, weekends and holidays.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
You:
- Are available to work on call during evenings and early morning periods.
- Have previous experience operating a bobcat, large snow plow with bucket attachment and articulated front-end loader and/or comparable equipment with excellent safety record.
- Have a valid class 5 drivers' license with a clear abstract.
- Are mechanically inclined, with an understanding of basic operations and maintenance of equipment.
- Are team-oriented with a desire to make a positive contribution to the entire resort.
- Can effectively communicate with a diverse range of people.
- Hold a current certification in basic first aid - an asset.
