Sales Associates provide exceptional customer service by actively engaging with customers to understand their needs and provide assistance. They work collaboratively with supervisors and other sales associates in various departments, including Lumber, Building Materials, Paint, Hardware, Electrical, Plumbing, Seasonal, and Tool Rental.
Key Responsibilities:- Ask open-ended questions to determine customer needs and level of expertise
- Describe features and benefits of merchandise
- Explain project requirements and necessary products
- Maintain assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, safe, and in-stock
- Perform heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
- Pick, organize, and verify orders for delivery or pick-up
- Utilize computer terminals and/or portable phones to check inventory and notify customers
- Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Experience in fast-paced customer service environments
- Excellent communication, reading, and decision-making skills
- Trade experience and proficiency with computers
- Detail-oriented and organized
