Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Store Associate to join our team at our Angry Otter Liquor store in Kamloops, BC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service
    • Provide excellent customer service to guests in a courteous and efficient manner
    • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Transaction Processing
    • Process register transactions, refunds, and returns
    • Activate gift cards and manage customer loyalty programs
  • Store Maintenance
    • Stock, face, and rotate products on the shelves
    • Receive, check, and put away deliveries
    • Keep store and storage areas clean and organized
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve sales goals and maintain a positive store environment
    • Contribute to the team's efforts to promote sales and drive business growth

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Liquor retail experience preferred
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
    • Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and credit transactions
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • Serving It Right certification required
    • WSET 1 minimum accreditation required within the first year of employment
