Join our team as a Food Service Supervisor at the Children's & Women's Health Center in Vancouver, BC. As a key member of our food services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality food service operations for patients, residents, customers, and clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and coordinate the work of Food Service Workers, Cooks, Dietary Clerks, and Lead Hands to ensure efficient and effective food service operations.
- Review and process food intake reports and food processor programs to ensure accuracy and compliance with department standards.
- Monitor staff scheduling and identify utilization issues to optimize staffing levels and meet customer needs.
- Plan and develop menus, recipes, and food inventory requirements to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Visit patient and resident units to resolve concerns and issues related to diet and food preferences.
- Engage with clients, customers, and stakeholders to resolve concerns and improve service quality.
- Coordinate food services and billing, including assisted living, outpatient clinic production, and catering events.
- Ensure food handling and preparation meet established practices and procedures, including food safety and HACCP guidelines.
- Monitor and estimate food and supply requirements to optimize inventory levels and minimize waste.
- Arrange for equipment maintenance and repair, and complete work orders as required.
- Communicate and interpret regulations and standards to staff to ensure compliance with Worksafe BC.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including audits and satisfaction surveys.
- Graduation from a recognized two-year program in Food Service Supervision, plus one year's recent, related experience.
- Certificate in Food Safe Level 1.
- Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting Indigenous communities.
- Familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism principles.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to supervise, organize work, and operate related equipment.
