The Purchaser will play a critical role in supporting our field teams by sourcing and purchasing materials and specialty items, developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and purchase Line materials & specialty items for field foremen
  • Review, maintain, and issue required purchase orders to preferred vendors
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate best pricing and delivery terms
  • Review and recommend inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize waste
  • Schedule and expedite material deliveries to meet project timelines
  • Verify accuracy of vendor invoices and resolve any discrepancies
  • Execute material return procedures and obtain credits from suppliers

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of Purchasing experience in the construction industry
  • Post-secondary education in construction management or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous experience working in the construction industry, particularly in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing service projects
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to build strong relationships with suppliers
