Registered Dietitian

We are looking for a highly organized and hands-on Dietitian to provide support in our daily operations, working on a casual basis in one of our beautiful long-term care facilities located in Chilliwack. This position offers a flexible schedule.

Location: Eden Care Center, 9100 Charles Street, Chilliwack, BC, V2P 5K6
Position Details: Part Time 15 hours a week.

Compensation: $45 per hour

Responsibilities:
Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plans to create nutritional programs based on health needs of the residents.
Consult with physicians and healthcare staff to determine nutritional needs of the residents.
Participate in menu development (new menu, seasonal menu etc.)
Document nutrition assessment, care plans & recommendations at each stage of the process
Attend care conferences to provide input on resident's nutritional status.
Monitor resident satisfaction with Food and Nutrition Services and respond to needs that may arise.
Assist with ensuring the production and service of attractive, nutritious meals for residents.
Advise on required changes, including equipment in Food and Nutrition Services.
Participate in and make recommendations at interdisciplinary care conferences or provide verbal or written input or delegate attendance to Support Services Manager.
Complete required audits as outlined in the "Summary of Required Nutrition and Food Service Audit".
Prepare monthly reports detailing clinical activities and submit to the client.
Performs other related duties as requested by manager.

Qualifications:
Current Professional Registration with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia.
Bachelor of Science degree in Food & Nutrition from a university accredited by College of Dietitians of British Columbia.
Restricted Activities A.
Food Safe Level 2.
Sound knowledge of geriatric nutrition care in a long-term care setting.
