Job Title
IDL Projects Inc. is a leading construction services company in Canada and internationally, providing a wide range of solutions in civil and infrastructure, commercial, residential, public and institutional, industrial, energy, and mining sectors.
Job Summary
The Safety Watch and Spark Watch are key members of our team, responsible for ensuring a safe and successful turnaround project at a pulp mill in Prince George, BC. This is a temporary position for approximately 10 days, requiring a high level of attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections to prevent the release of flammable vapors or liquids, and ensure safe distances from ignition sources.
- Perform duties including on-site safety watch, hole watch, atmospheric testing, spark/fire watch, and gas detection.
- Monitor emergency planning zones and potential hazards, and conduct stop work procedures in high-risk situations.
- Maintain coordination and cooperation with the site team to ensure smooth project execution.
- Adhere to safe practices, worksite, and traffic laws.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- No experience is necessary; mandatory in-house training will be provided.
- Steel-toe boots are required.
- Ability to attend an all-day training session.
- Availability for approximately 7 days of work.
- Local to Prince George.
- Own transportation is required.
- Ability to carry up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
- Adherence to company Health, Safety, and Environmental reporting and standard assessments.
