Overview:

As a physiotherapist at Fraser Health, you will assess and treat clients with various health care needs in community settings. Your role will involve aiding in clients' early discharge to the community, preventing hospitalizations, promoting independence at home, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to deliver quality care.


Responsibilities:
  • Provide physiotherapy services to clients through assessments and interventions to enhance functional independence and safety.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to set and achieve client-centered goals.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of clinical care and education provided, and recommend equipment and aids for optimal client mobility and safety.
  • Assist in delegating tasks to family members or caregivers and educate them on appropriate care.
  • Act as a resource on physiotherapy techniques, provide staff education, and participate in quality improvement activities.
  • Maintain knowledge of evidence-based practice, set performance goals, and assist in purchasing supplies and equipment.
  • Facilitate student placements, participate in research projects, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Graduation from an approved Physiotherapy school.
  • Two (2) years of recent clinical experience in a relevant setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current registration with the College of Physical Therapists of BC and eligibility for Canadian Association of Physiotherapy membership.
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for work purposes.
