Job Summary

Southshore Greenhouses Inc. is seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Laborer/Greenhouse Specialist. This is a full-time position working Monday to Saturday, with a steady day shift from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Harvest fruits and vegetables using hand tools such as shears and knives.
  • Monitor plants for problems such as diseases, weeds, and insect pests, and report to the supervisor.
  • Inspect products prior to packaging to ensure quality specifications are met.
  • Operate and maintain farm equipment and machinery.
  • Report quality or crop issues to the labor supervisor.
  • Follow all company policies.
Requirements
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Effective communication skills to report any issues or concerns to the supervisor or manager.
  • No prior experience or education is required.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials (up to 23 kg/50 lbs.), climb stairs, and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a changing temperature environment and perform tasks that require bending, stretching, twisting, or reaching.
