We are seeking a compassionate and caring individual to join our team as a Youth Support Program worker. This role requires a strong understanding of the Woodland Cree Culture and practices, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills.
We are looking for a dedicated and non-judgmental role model who can provide individual care and guidance to children and youth, while also working with community members and healthcare professionals to develop life skills and access community resources.
This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and youth in our community. As a Youth Support Program worker, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting children and youth in developing life skills and social skills
- Providing individual care and guidance
- Working with community members and healthcare professionals to develop life skills and access community resources
- Assisting in organizing committees and engaging youth in discussions about relevant issues and concerns
- Participating in developing youth planning in each community
- Assisting in facilitating grief workshops
- Inspiring youth to live a healthy lifestyle
- Attending meetings, case conferences, and trainings as required
Successful candidates will possess:
- Grade 12 or equivalent education and relevant experience
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Experience in facilitating groups, public speaking, presentations, and writing reports
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to speak and understand Cree and/or knowledge of Cree culture is an asset
- Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Satisfactory background check
- Valid driver's license
