Job Summary

The Zone Manager, Fleet Operations is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Walmart Canada's assigned freight transportation (inbound and outbound) in their respective regions. This role requires strong leadership and management skills to ensure seamless operations and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Transportation Management: Manage all regional inbound and outbound fleet transportation operations, deliveries, services, and communication to internal associates, vendors, distribution centers, e-commerce partners, and stores.
  2. Team Leadership: Lead and direct the operational activities of the Walmart Fleet team, consisting of 300+ drivers and 110+ power units, to support the network with both inbound and outbound deliveries, yard management, and site-to-store support for Walmart Canada's e-commerce division.
  3. Performance Management: Provide leadership and development opportunities for direct reports by establishing performance expectations, conducting regular performance evaluations, coaching, mentoring, recognizing, and rewarding employees.
  4. Business Planning: Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects for Fleet by identifying customer and operational needs, developing and communicating business plans and priorities, removing barriers and obstacles, providing resources, identifying performance standards, measuring progress, and adjusting performance accordingly.
  5. Capacity Management: Identify capacity constraints and develop solutions to reduce costs and maintain service between sites and stores by selecting and defining lanes and volumes to best utilize Walmart Fleet equipment and lower costs.
  6. Strategic Development: Lead the strategic development and growth of the Fleet, managing all driver issues and store delivery issues.
  7. Performance Analysis: Use relevant business metrics, analysis, and reports to measure, monitor, and improve performance, identifying and applying sound, fact-based criteria in setting priorities and making decisions.
  8. Stakeholder Management: Influence, persuade, counsel, develop relationships, and gain credibility with merchants, supply chain, risk management, and other key stakeholders to ensure Walmart Canada's interests are protected.
