Body Technician

The body technician plays a crucial role in increasing the efficiency of the store by following a structured approach to all repairs. Their meticulous dismantling of vehicles, including blend panel trim parts, allows for early identification of all parts and labor required for collision damage. This helps streamline the repair process. The technician needs to be highly organized, maintaining thorough documentation to reduce losses. It's essential for them to interpret estimates accurately to ensure correct part matching and promptly report any discrepancies. Attendance in daily production/release meetings is necessary to relay key information to management.
Accountability and Responsibility of Position- When the vehicle is assigned, review work order line items and parts to be replaced, positioning them in the appropriate production stall.
- Thoroughly inspect the vehicle's exterior and ensure all power accessories are operational, highlighting any damages overlooked.
- Full dismantling of damaged areas, including blend panel parts, to uncover hidden damages early.
- Initiate repairs and promptly notify management of major supplements or hidden damages.
- Return unnecessary parts for credit, sign off on the QA checklist, and maintain a clean work area.
- Participate in the daily production meeting and engage in one-on-one discussions with management staff to update on progress and any additional damages.
- Ensure the timely loading of incoming vehicle parts carts/totes and notify the technician upon job positioning.
- Maintain a safe and tidy work environment in adherence to company policies.
- Proficiency in Mitchell/Audatex/Reynolds software.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with a strong work ethic.
- Adaptability to changing situations and strong organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Must possess general physical skills and a valid driver's license.
