Zurich Canada is currently looking for a Core Platforms Lead/Senior Manager who can manages all aspects of our core Claims handling IT platform and related digital portals, API stack. As a seasoned leader who has experience handling a portfolio of programs, this role manages teams with technology leads, business analysts and software developers, and requires a deep knowledge of business process and technology practices within the claims handling areas. This role will be responsible for full software development life cycle; including liaising with architecture teams both local and Zurich global, ensuring technology solutions are fit for purpose and delivery. This role will partner with claims strategy office amongst other stakeholders, and is responsible for strategy execution, technology advisory and develop delivery roadmap.

Reporting to the Head of IT Core Platforms, this role will be pivotal in driving claims transformation programs.

What you will do:


• Core Platforms Lead is a key member of the Technology leadership team and a value-added advisor to the claims areas of the commercial & personal Insurance business lines.


• Define, communicate and execute end-to-end application strategy at the local or Line of Business level assuring line of sight with Business Division, Business Segment, or global function business strategies.


• Lead teams comprised of developers, business analysts, subject matter experts.


• Represent IT in the definition and delivery of IT services and programs to the local business unit.


• Lead inception sessions, run Agile ceremonies and compile relevant project health reports to the leadership.


• Oversee the planning of and manage the IT budget for the managed application(s).


• Pro-actively manage relationships with local executives and key business partners.


• Develop business solutions and project concepts, create plans and oversee implementation of business solutions of moderate to high level of complexity.


• Supports the implementation activities, troubleshoots system environmental issues, and provides training as required.


• Take responsibility for local and global governance compliance. Ensure proper license management.


• Perform strategic HR management processes and perform managerial tasks for direct reports.


• Utilize established financial systems to track budgets and highlight variances (either internal or within vendor contracts) to manage and control specific cost variables.

What you bring to the table:

Job Qualifications

Required:


• Bachelors Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Systems Analysis and Programming area

OR


• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 9 or more years of experience in the Systems Analysis and Programming area

AND


• Experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter

Preferred:


• Ability to advanced technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities.


• People management experience.
