About the Role

Modern Niagara is seeking a highly skilled Building Operator/4th Class Power Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance and operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our mechanical systems, including steam, boiler, and hot water units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Maintain Mechanical Systems: Ensure the smooth operation of our mechanical systems, including boilers, HVAC equipment, electrical systems, and plumbing systems.
  • Troubleshoot and Repair Equipment: Identify and resolve issues with mechanical equipment and systems to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop and Implement Maintenance Schedules: Create and implement maintenance schedules to ensure regular inspections and maintenance of mechanical systems.
  • Communicate with Team Members and Clients: Provide regular updates to team members and clients on the status of mechanical systems and any issues that may arise.
  • Train and Mentor Colleagues: Share your knowledge and expertise with colleagues to ensure a high level of technical competence within the team.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Stay current with industry developments, best practices, and new technologies to ensure our facilities remain at the forefront of mechanical systems operation.
Requirements
  • TSBC 4th Class Power Engineer Certification or Equivalent: Hold a valid TSBC 4th Class Power Engineer certification or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 Years of Experience: Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in general building maintenance, with a focus on steam, boiler, and hot water units.
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to Work Independently and as Part of a Team: Be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.
