Location: Vancouver, Canada
Company Overview: Our client is a local general contractor specializing in commercial construction management with expertise in design-build tenant improvements. The company has s a reputation for delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.
Job Description: Our client is seeking a Project Coordinator to join their team in Vancouver. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction projects from pre-construction through to closeout, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standard of quality.
Responsibilities:
- Support commercial construction projects concurrently, focusing on design-build tenant improvements
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and project plans
- Coordinate project activities with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients
- Oversee and manage project team members, including field supervisors and project coordinators
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and other applicable laws and regulations
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure work is progressing as planned and to address any issues or concerns
- Ensure that all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and in compliance with company policies and procedures
- Manage project change orders, cost control, and billing to ensure projects are delivered within budget
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial construction project management, with a focus on design-build tenant improvements
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles, practices, and techniques
- Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field is preferred but not required
