Drake International, a global leader in flexible and permanent staffing, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Yard Attendant to join our team.
About the JobThis is a full-time opportunity with a competitive salary of $20/hour. The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, in a team-oriented and engaging environment.
Responsibilities- Vehicle check-in and filing information on incoming vehicles
- Detailing vehicles to improve their appearance and value
- Operating passenger vehicles safely for moving vehicles around the facility and participating in drive-through auctions
- Recovering keys, license plates, and other information or objects from vehicles and storing them in the appropriate locations
- Assisting visitors with guidance and directing them to the appropriate person for additional assistance
- Maintaining a clean and safe facility by washing cars, removing license plates, and providing general cleaning services
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures
- Reading and understanding safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other procedural documents
- Remaining alert to potential hazards associated with heavy equipment and other vehicles operated in the work area
- Meeting key performance metrics, including daily, weekly, and monthly goals
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate vehicles
- Ability to constantly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 10 lbs.; frequently up to 50 lbs
- Ability to learn how to operate a forklift (may not be required in certain facilities)
- Capable of interacting effectively and supportively with customers and colleagues
- Capable of performing and/or assisting with light maintenance of vehicles
- Ability to perform activities that involve stooping, bending, standing, and walking for reasonable periods of time
- Ability to work in varying climates, weather conditions, and walking surfaces, inside and outside
- General mechanical knowledge of makes and models of vehicles required
- Ability to function well as part of a team
- Previous forklift operating experience is a plus
- Basic automotive repair skills
- Bilingual preferred
- This position involves primarily outdoor work in all types of weather
- Must remain alert to potential hazards associated with heavy equipment and other vehicles operated in their work area
